Court Wars Terms and Conditions
Last updated 11 September 2026. These terms apply to every Court Wars registration.
To be completed before publishing: clause 1.3 (minimum age) and clause 7.5 (Victorian recreational services warning) are placeholders. Replace the bracketed text in each with the confirmed wording. Delete this box once both are done.
1. Entry and eligibility
1.1 Entry to Court Wars is by team. Individual entries are not accepted.
1.2 Each team must nominate a captain at registration. The captain is the primary contact and is responsible for their team's compliance with these terms, including the conduct of every player they bring.
1.3 All participants must be [MINIMUM AGE TO BE CONFIRMED]. Participants under 18 require written consent from a parent or guardian before taking the court.
1.4 Teams must field a minimum of 6 players. Teams unable to field 6 at the scheduled start time may forfeit at the discretion of the organiser.
1.5 Teams may use substitute players during the season provided the team remains substantially the same. Stacking a team with new players for a single session is not permitted and may result in results being voided.
2. Division placement
2.1 Court Wars runs two divisions, graded against the Volleyball Victoria state league system:
- Blaze — Premier to Reserve 1 level. One court, three teams per session.
- Ember — Reserve 2 and 3, social teams, mixed sides, and newer players. Two courts, six teams per session.
2.2 Teams select a division at registration. Placement is based on a team's strongest two or three players, not its average.
2.3 Fantazia reserves the right to move a team to a different division if the selected division is clearly not appropriate. Where possible this will be discussed with the captain before the session.
2.4 Fantazia's decision on division placement is final.
3. Fees and payment
3.1 Single session entry is $110 per team.
3.2 Payment is due in full at the time of registration. A team's place is not held until payment is received.
3.3 Fees are per team and are not calculated per player. No adjustment is made for the number of players a team brings.
4. Cancellations and refunds
4.1 Cancellation by a team. Email us at least 48 hours before the session and your entry is refunded in full so the spot can be offered to another team. Inside 48 hours the court is booked and the division is set, so no refund is available.
4.2 Missing a session. No refund or credit is given for a session a team does not attend. Teams that do not attend are recorded as a no-show and score zero points for that session.
4.3 Cancellation by Fantazia. If Fantazia cancels a session, affected teams receive a credit toward a future session or a replacement date. Fantazia will make reasonable efforts to reschedule.
4.4 Cancellation by the venue. Monash Sport may cancel a booking to accommodate University events or for maintenance, sometimes at short notice and outside Fantazia's control. Where this occurs, clause 4.3 applies.
4.5 Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Duty team obligations
5.1 Three teams share each court. Each team is off court for two of six rounds and is required to officiate the match in front of them during those rounds.
5.2 Each duty team must provide four people: one first referee, one score tracker, and two line judges.
5.3 Failure to provide a duty team may result in the forfeit of that team's next match.
5.4 Officiating decisions made by duty teams are final. Fantazia may overrule a decision only where a clear error of fact has occurred.
6. Conduct
6.1 Court Wars is a social competition. Abuse, aggression, or intimidation directed at players, officials or organisers will not be tolerated.
6.2 Fantazia may remove a player or team from a session, or from the season, for conduct that is unsafe, abusive, or in breach of Monash Sport's conditions of entry. No refund is given where a team is removed for conduct reasons.
6.3 All participants must comply with Monash Sport facility rules, including that the campus is smoke free and that alcohol may not be consumed without a valid liquor licence.
7. Risk, health and insurance
7.1 Volleyball involves inherent risks including collisions, falls, sprains, fractures and other injury. By participating, you acknowledge and accept those risks.
7.2 Fantazia does not provide personal accident or medical insurance for participants. Participants are responsible for their own private health, ambulance and income protection cover.
7.3 Participants confirm they are medically fit to take part and will not participate while injured, unwell or otherwise unfit.
7.4 Participants must notify Fantazia immediately of any injury occurring during a session so an incident report can be completed.
7.5 [VICTORIAN RECREATIONAL SERVICES WARNING TO BE INSERTED — PRESCRIBED WORDING REQUIRED]
8. Photography and media
8.1 Fantazia may photograph and film sessions for promotional use, subject to Monash Sport's written approval.
8.2 By participating, you consent to your image being used in Fantazia's promotional material, including social media and the Fantazia website.
8.3 If you do not wish to appear in photography or video, notify the organiser before the session begins and reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate you.
8.4 Participants may not film or photograph within Monash Sport facilities without prior written consent from Monash Sport.
9. Results and standings
9.1 Team names, results, ladder position and statistics are published publicly on the Fantazia standings page and on social media.
9.2 Results are final once published, unless a clear scoring error is raised with the organiser within 48 hours of the session.
